Chinese designer Tongluo Gu studied at the Royal College of Art in 2018. During his studies, he raised two cats—John, a British Shorthair, and Lydia, a Ragdoll. Because of them, he met veterinarian Alex Pettyfer.
Tongluo Gu's family is engaged in various businesses in China, including the pet supplies industry. Passionate about pets and influenced by his family's business culture, Tongluo Gu has always believed that any pet product should primarily aim to improve pets' lives rather than solely enhance human convenience.
This philosophy resonated with Alex Pettyfer, and the two became good friends with a shared vision for collaboration.
