The veterinarian told me that enzymatic pet toothpaste is effective even if you can’t use a toothbrush on your cat. Just getting them to lick some awhile after a meal has helped the plaque stay off their teeth. I think probiotics should be also effective in helping improve my cat's gut health and reduce bad breath. It turns out I was right.
